I went here for a late week night dinner at their pub/bar. I sampled the beers on tap because they were not the run of the mill for a steak house. I can say I had a hard time deciding which one because they were all good. Thy started off with freshly poped popcorn with just a hint of salt. I was the good kind. I had the meat loaf with mushroom gravy on mashed potato served in a hot mini-skillet and cooked carrots on the side. All were great. The mashed potatoes were from scratch. The carrots were cooked al dente with orange zest and not just boiled in plain water and the meat mixture of the meat loaf was first rate. My partner had the kayle salade with roasted walnuts and she wouldn't let me steal another bite. I can't wait to go back and try their assortment of ribs. They had about 10 high res TV's over the bar with the Mets and PGA playing. While we were there, the regulars were line-dancing to honkytonk music so it you hate this kind of music go elsewhere. In the middle of the restaurant is a bull riding gizmo and I was told that you can pick your own spead. I have had so many broken bones that I'll skip this event. Service was friendly but a little slow. It took a while to get served as the bar was crouded. That is why they got only 4 stars from me. I'll be back.

Not sure Why people wrote it's reasonably priced... In what world? Some of the steaks are over $30.... It is a quiet elegant place. Not kid friendly. Service was very good. To be fair I am a person that preferes food without all the fancy shmancy. They lost me when they said that it is a $1 addition for everything on the burger, meaning lettuce a $1, tomato a $1, just seems like a rip off. The food was good, nothing crazy, but good.

Very good food with an extensive special menu. Lunch prices were reasonable and all three of our lunches were delicious (all ordered off special menu). Great service and a nice view of the reservoir! Will definitely be a returning customer! 4 1/2 stars for today !!

The food here is wonderful. The lamb is delicious and the cook it perfect. The veggies are so good and are obviously not of the precut frozen variety. The view of the East Branch reservoir is gorgeous. My only complaint is some of the decor feels 1970s in the dinning room. If you sit in the bar side you will get that old pub feel which is nice to have such different decors in the same place. The service is excellent.

Nice surprise. Stopped here based an reviews on yelp. Nice fireplace and atmosphere. Food was good service prompt. Not giving five stars as I reserve for the best if the best. Bread was not served warm and butter hard but no complaints.

Found randomly on our way to an afternoon hike. The food was really good, service was excellent, and the price was amazing. I'm not a frequent yelper but I had to give them credit. I'd recommend to anyone.

Went to Southeast on a Weekend night for some dinner expecting very good things based on reviews. Disaster. Although our waiter was incredibly nice and helpful, we waited 45 minutes to get our appetizer which ended up being 2 raviolis that costs $8. So $4 for a single ravioli here. Then we waited another full hour for our meal while everybody around us was getting dessert and their checks. When the food finally came out I had to laugh. The veggies looked like they had been previously frozen and the entire meal was something I could've made at home in significantly better fashion and in MUCH less time. Will definitely not be going back or suggesting this to anyone.

The food, staff and owners are top shelf. If you are planning to just go out on a date you can get a great dinner in the dining room or sit in the pub/bar area. They have done over a dozen parties for my group and there is a reason we keep going back. Dom, Helen and the staff take care of us like no one else does.

This restaurant is one of my all time favorites! They start you off with fresh bread with a delicious oil, infused with hot peppers, for dipping. The food is exceptional and the presentation is amazing. I can honestly say I have never ordered something I didn't care for. If you are looking for a burger, their Southeast burger is to die for! My favorite entrees are the Southeast chicken, sliced hangar steak, and the scallops. Their desserts are soooo good!!! You HAVE to try the bread pudding. The service is superb and the atmosphere is great! Great place to bring the family, go out with friends, or for a special date. Can't say enough about how great this place is.

The food is AMAZING. The place is on the water, and has a full bar. I'm writing this as I eat, and I just had an appetizer. Tempura shrimp. Oh. My. Goodness. SO flavorful. The ginger sauce is sweet and a bit tangy. I had a portabella mushroom wrap with red cabbage slaw. Stunningly good. No comparison. Seriously, go here. Everything about this place rocks.

Decided to try this place for fathers day; almost drove by it but it was nice inside with a nice view of the reservoir lake and a varied dinner menu; service was good; unfortunately they were out of the porterhouse hubby wanted; the clam chowder, house salad, lamb, and penne special were all delish. would go here again.

Definitely a repeat!!! And would absolutely recommend this place. My GF and I went there for dinner the other night and was pleasantly surprised not only by our food but by the great service. We are both vegetarians and the two items on the menu that we both liked had meat/seafood in it. We asked our waitress if those items could be left off and if the price would reflect. She happily went to find out and said this request could be accommodated. Remembering that we were vegetarians, she even came back later to ask if we'd rather they use olive oil instead of butter!! Our food was cooked perfectly! The veggies and pasta weren't over or under cooked and just had a great taste. All in all a wonderful experience and will definitely be going back. Oh...and the view was so sweet over looking the lake as we watched little hummingbirds feed on their lovely flowers.

I would highly recommend the Southeast Grille House in Brewster for an event. We had a surprise 70th birthday party for my Mother a few weeks ago and everything came off perfectly. Helen and her team were amazing. They were very flexible on time, offering to open early to do an early brunch just for us when scheduling became an issue (due to the time of year - confirmations and whatnot). Helen was very nice and totally straight-forward - no BS. Could not have been an easier event to plan. They were very flexible and accommodating on the menu and approach. The food is solid, not spectacular - perfect for our needs. And the prices were very reasonable, particularly for Northern Westchester/Putnam. The restaurant itself is simple but very versatile and perfect to take on some simple dressing up for a party. On a nice day (which we had), guests can access the lawn outside, which has a picturesque view of the river. And there's a magnificent magnolia tree which was beaming with color - a perfect backdrop for a quick photo shoot on a perfect day.

The Southeast Grille House is one of my favorite restaurants! Everything about it is amazing! The staff is so welcoming and friendly. The views from the huge windows in the dining room were astounding. There is a great selection of food on the menu and everything that I have ever ordered here is simply amazing. The hangar steak is one of my favorites! Be sure to leave room for dessert. Now I am not a dessert person typically, but I cannot tell you how amazing the bread pudding is! If in the Brewster area, the Southeast Grille House is an absolute must! Highly recommended!!!

We just got back from eating dinner just a couple of hours ago (I find Im better @ doing reviews when its still fresh in my mind) The place outfront didnt look all that great but once we got in, your seated in a reasonably open dining space outlooking the water. Our server was a very nice gentlemen, we went here because of a coupon I got through restaurant.com and one of the things on the coupon was that the server is automatically given 18% tip at the end of the meal & starting off by saying that he wont hold us to that percent, whatever we thought he should get is what he would want (which started us off in a happy note) We started off with the wings, black bean soup and house salad. My husband liked the wings as did I and I enjoyed the black bean soup, I enjoyed the salad but my husband didnt care for the dressing (which im pretty sure he could of asked for a different one) I ordered the personal margherita pizza & my husband got the penne chicken w/ spinach & garlic sauce. I liked the pizza it's not something I would crave, but it was good & my husband liked his chicken (we both agreed that we liked the sauce--it wasnt heavy). Then for dessert we got the apple pie a la mode and I got the red velvet cupcake. I liked the apple pie and so did my husband, I didnt care for my cupcake I didnt like how it was cold & the filling wasnt strong with the cream cheesiness that I like in red velvet. (I do feel like if it was warmed up it would of been more enjoyable). We left liking the service & majority of the food & we would def. come back

Went tonight for the first time to try out for my birthday. Was interested after being in Brewster for two years and seeing it once in a while as I drove by. Started of with a bottle of Rodney cab which was top three on the list. Ordered a side of spinach and calamari to start then the lemon chicken and prime rib RARE for entrees. Everything was great, even though it was a rookie server, until the prime came out. The rare steak came out medium to medium well which is not exceptable and far past where I like my meat. Being the person I am after working in the industry for 12 years I mentioned it but ate it not wanting to wait for a new steak thinking something would be done about it. After ordering two deserts a j. walker black, coffee, and caps, I asked for the check... As surprised as I could have been when nothing was done about the steak, I asked what the manager said when the server mentioned the steak. The excuse I received was that the steak was hard to cook rare all around. Which would be understandable but NONE of the steak was cooked rare or even close. Long story short I was very upset with the manager after spending 150$ and not being taken care of at all. Myself and wife will not be returning there and now I know the reason why they were not busy on a Saturday night.

Enjoyed the diverse menu, service and views from the dining room. Everything seemed to have been prepared with the right amount of attention, portion sizes were adequate and so was the price. Definitely a place to go for dinner if one wants good food with plenty of different choices.
